"The goal of coaching is the goal of good management: to make the most of an organization's valuable resources."

What is coaching?
The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as an ongoing partnership designed to help clients produce fulfilling results in both their personal and professional lives. Coaches assist in improving work performance as well as enhance the quality of lives. Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client. They believe the client to be both naturally creative and resourceful. The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has.

Coaches...

  • Assist people in setting better goals and reaching them
  • Ask their clients to do more than they would have done on their own
  • Focus their clients, which quickly produces results
  • Provide the tools, support, and structure to accomplish more

Other frequently asked questions about coaching:

  1. How is coaching different from Consulting? Therapy? Sports coaching? A best friend?
  2. What happens when you hire a coach?
  3. Does the coach work on personal goals or business/professional goals?
  4. Why is coaching becoming so popular?
  5. What about people who are already doing great in their lives? Why would they need a coach?
  6. How much does it cost to hire a coach?

Clients attribute a higher level of self-awareness and self-confidence, a more balanced life, smarter goal-setting and lower stress levels to coaching.
